Graduate Programs in Education, including credential pathways

The graduate programs in education are designed to equip individuals to become classroom teachers, instructional leaders, curriculum developers, school psychologists, or school counselors. The programs provide a purposeful balance between theory, practice, and research.

The School of Education offers candidates the opportunity to combine a state approved preliminary credential program with a Master of Science in Education degree. These preliminary credentials include multiple subject, single subject, mild/moderate service needs, and/or extensive service needs. Our unique stacking format of the preliminary credential courses makes it possible for candidates to earn more than one credential. Students must meet with a School of Education advisor for assistance in personalizing their credential pathway. All preliminary credentials have internship options available for those meeting eligibility.

Candidates who hold a preliminary teaching credential may receive credit for their state approved induction work. Credit can be applied toward a Master of Science degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction.

Additional concentrations (online and in-person) in the Master of Science in Education are available for individuals seeking expertise in a variety of education related fields.

Clear credentials are offered for Pupil Personnel Services in School Psychology and School Counseling. Candidates can earn a Master of Science in conjunction with either credential. Both credentials have internship options available for those meeting eligibility.

The School of Education also offers a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Leadership and Student Development. This program prepares students to serve in higher education institutions as administrators, department specialists, academic advisors, or other leadership roles.

California Baptist University credential programs are approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Credential programs are subject to revision at any time by state or federal law.
