CBU’s online Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) degree program gives you the freedom to design your own bachelor’s program. The IDS program is built around the core belief that everyone has a purpose. It’s your life, it’s your purpose, and the interdisciplinary studies program allows you to pursue your purpose on your terms.

Online Major Program Requirements (48 units)


Upper Division Requirements


  • Areas of Emphasis I*:

    • Four (4) courses
    • Minimum of twelve (12) units, nine (9) of which must be upper division

    Areas of Emphasis II*:

    • Four (4) courses
    • Minimum of twelve (12) units, nine (9) of which must be upper division

    Areas of Emphasis III*:

    • Four (4) courses
    • Minimum of twelve (12) units, nine (9) of which must be upper division

    *Students may choose only two areas of emphases by completing the following for each emphasis:

    • six (6) courses
    • Minimum of eighteen (18) units, twelve (12) of which must be upper division

  • Communication Studies (COM, JRN, PRL)
  • Computer Information Technology (CIT)
  • Criminal Justice (CJS)
  • Cybersecurity (CYB)
  • Early Childhood Studies (ECS)
  • English (ENG)
  • Graphic Design and Digital Media (GDM)
  • Healthcare Administration and Management (minimum 9 units of HCA, additional units can be taken from HSC)
  • History (HIS)
  • Human Services (HMS)
  • Kinesiology (KIN)
  • Marketing (MKT)
  • Organizational Leadership (LDR, ORG)
  • Psychology (PSY)
