The Psychology major prepares graduates for employment in public and private agencies and for graduate school in psychology and other related fields.  The Psychology major explores the science of human behavior and mental processes.  Graduates will understand the historical foundations of psychology and how theories are applied to modern practice.  Students are encouraged to pair the Psychology major with an additional major or minor in a complimentary field. 

Traditional Major Program Requirements (47-62 units)

Optional Concentrations* (12-15 units)


Students can earn an optional concentration in one of the following areas: Forensic Psychology; Industrial and Organizational Psychology; Life Span Development; Medical Anthropology; Social Work; Sports Psychology

*Each optional concentration requires the completion of a minimum of twelve (12) distinct units beyond the major.
